A Favourtie Photo: Emu

I don’t like emus. They kind of scare me and freak me out. I think it stemmed from seeing this one at Caversham Wildlife Park in Perth. You can get pretty close to them but they just look creepy. The beady eyes, the blue skin. They aren’t animals you want to cuddle like kangaroos or koalas (even if they are quite smelly). Seeing them in the wild is much better. I saw a whole pack (flock? herd?) of emus out near Kalgoorlie. And they are much better when you are out of pecking distance and in the safety of a car.
